Summary: When Charles Darrow chose Atlantic City as the setting for the original Monopoly game, he never conceived that his favorite seaside resort would become a gambling mecca. Today there are the glittering casinos such as Tropicana, Caesars and Borgata along with many others. However, Atlantic City is not just about the casinos anymore. There are the beach bars with live music right on the beach, the shopping such as the Pier at Caesars and The Walk, which features top of the line shopping experiences, then of course there are many many new world class restaurants that have recently opened. Still no trip to AC would be complete without a stroll down the historic Boardwalk, which was the world's first (constructed in 1870) and is still the world's longest, climb up Absecon Lighthouse or get a fantastic view of Atlantic City from the top of the Ferris wheel at historic Steel Pier.
