Long Beach Island is long, measuring about 21 miles
from north to south. It is very narrow though and in some places only
a block seperates the ocean and bay. There is only one road on or off
the island and that is Rt 72.
Pirates used to frequent this island, including
Captain Kidd and Blackbeard. Barnegat Lighhouse resides at the north
end of the
