Cedar
Run Refuge is located on 185 tranquil acres in the Pine
Barrens of southwestern Medford,
New Jersey.
The Elizabeth
Woodford Pine Barrens Education Center crowns a bluff on
Cedar Run Lake’s northern shore. Inside, hands-on exhibits
and graphics about Pinelands ecology and wildlife entertain
and educate visitors. The “Goodness, Snakes!” exhibit
is a favorite. Easy-walking trails wind through woodlands
and wetlands, linking the Education Center with the Wildlife
Rehabilitation
Compound. The Refuge cares for more than 3,500 native wild
animals each year and those that cannot be released remain
in outdoor enclosures under sheltering pines. Deer, raccoon,
fox, hawks, owls and even a bald eagle can be seen here.
Direction from Major
Highways: From Route 73, take Marlton Parkway east to Hopewell
Road (Parkway

Refuge entrance is first left. From Route 70, take Route 541
(Main Street) south through Medford. At third light, right
