Brian K McGowan

Brian K. McGowan is a life long resident of Cumberland County, New Jersey. He is a 2000 graduate of Cumberland Regional High School and a graduate in American Studies at Cumberland County College. Currently, Brian is majoring in historical studies at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, and plans to graduate in the spring of 2007. His future plans are to go to graduate school and work in the field of research.

Brian’s hobbies include sports, such as; baseball, football, college basketball, and hockey. He enjoys visiting different places across the country, and his goal is to visit Europe when he graduates, “I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland and Scotland, but once I visit the two, I’m going to want to visit France, Germany, and Italy.” During the summer he visits the boardwalks in Ocean City and Wildwood, “Since, I was a child I always visited the two during the summer with my parents. It’s a great place to bring the family during the summer, just remember the sun block or you can ruin the whole vacation!”

Currently, Brian is active in politics, “I keep in touch with local officials and express my voice. I want to make sure they know my opinion and make New Jersey the best it can be.” During the weekends, Brian works as an Emergency Medical Technician at Millville Rescue Squad, “I like to help people, and it has enabled me to support myself while I’ve been in college. Its great coming home after work and knowing you have made a difference in your community.” Every Monday you can find Brian on the baseball field playing for his church’s softball league. Even though he keeps himself busy, Brian finds time to write and is working on a book, “I’m writing a children’s novel. I hope it has success, but if not, it’s been fun writing. After the children’s novel, I plan on working on more serious pieces of literature.”
