Six Flags Great Adventure was
founded by Warner LeRoy and celebrated its grand opening on
July 4, 1974. It included the 350 acre Wild Safari and 16 rides
in what was then known as the Enchanted Forest. The tallest
structure in the park at the time was the 156 foot Ferris wheel.
The Skyride, which operated at the 1964 New
York World's Fair, connected the two ends of the park.
Along with the great attractions
Great Adventure has put in suring the past years, such as the
worlds tallest, fastest roller coaster in the world, Kingda
Ka, this year you will see changes to many of the previous
rides. Medusa has gotten a completely new look, with music,
fog, fire and water affects. In addition, the the original
Ferris Wheel will feature new energy saving LED lights which
at night will display a lightshow Finally, the Fireworks
are BACK!! Starting 4th of July and every Saturday until
Labor Day, Great Adventure will be lighting up the sky with
a display you won't soon forget.

Steel Pier |
Celebrate another
season with the Steel Pier in Atlantic City with four
ALL DAY passes to Steel Pier ($140 value).
The Steel Pier originally
opened in 1898 and quickly became known for showcasing
the world's top entertainers. From the 1920's through
the 50s everyone who was anyone played Steel Pier.
W. C. Fields was a member of the minstrel group that
appeared during the Pier's inaugural season, but headline
appearances quickly followed for him and everyone else.
Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, Jimmy Dorsey, Mae West,
Charlie Chaplin, The Three Stooges, Bob Hope, Amos

they started to play on Steel Pier.

Absecon Lighthouse |
Take
a break from the excitement of the rides at Steel
Pier and climb the steps of New Jersey's tallest
lighthouse. Don't worry, they have alcove areas to
catch your breath. From the top of the Absecon Lighthouse,
take in the fantasic view of downtown Atlantic City
to the south, the bay area and Marina District to
the west, the ocean to the east and the inlet and
Brigantine to the north.

Atlantic City Aquarium |
During your visit, explore the 750 gallon hands-on Touch
Tank. Here, you will have a unique opportunity to
interact with crabs, sea stars, sea urchins, and
many other smaller inhabitants of the ocean, touching a variety
of local invertebrates as well as other beach residents.
On the second floor, enter the world of sharks and rays with the 900
gallon shark and ray touch tank. During your trip will view additional exhibits
inside the aquarium, including twelve aquarium tanks containing local and tropical
fish species, live coral, moon jellies, sea horses, and moray eels.
In addition all the marine life,
you will see habitats featuring Diamondback Terrapins, various species found
in the Mullica River, bearded dragons, and one of the newest exhibits highlighting
the exotic animals featured in the Live Interactive Exotic Animal Show on Saturdays.
These animals include the boa constrictor, emperor scorpions, hedgehog, and diamond
doves.
The third level of the aquarium is the observation area which provides a panoramic view of the salt marsh, Absecon Inlet, the Atlantic Ocean, and the islands of Brigantine and Atlantic City. It also features a collection of antique dive helmets from around the world.

Lucy the Elephant |
Technically not Atlantic City, but
just a short ride south in Margate, Lucy the Elephant
was built in 1881 as a way to attract investors to
what is now Margate. Lucy stands six stories tall and
is a one of a kind attraction.
After years of restorattion, Lucy
the Elephant once again stands tall and proud at the
beaches of Margate and allows people to step inside
this historic treasure and receive a guided tour. Climb
into the belly of the beast, so to speak and look through
her eyes to see the ocean at her feet.

Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City |
