Norvin Green State Forsest is part of the Wyanokie Wilderness Area and contains many walking and hiking trails. Through the rugged terrain, with hills ranging from 400 to 1,300 feet elevation, one can view wonderful vistas, including the the New York skyline, Burnt Meadows Brook and Lake Sonoma.

This wonderful state forest offers sanctuary for many birds and wildlife. There is also an ecological center where you can can more of a knowledge of the wildlife and the forest. The resevoir is accessible only by foot.

Weis Ecology Center
Adminstered by the New Jersey Audubon Society, it is dedicated to environmental education. Here you can learn about the animals and plants that reside in the forest as well as in the general highlands area. The center offers hiking and cross-country skiing.

Highland Pool
The hidden gem of the highlands, this olympic size, stream-fed freshwater pool
is located adjacent to the Norvin Green State Forest. The pool is a 501(c)3 non-profit community owned and operated facility and no chemicals are used in the pool. Membership is available to everyone and day passes are available to visitors.

The Highlands Natural Pool will be open on weekends from Memorial Day through
the end of September and then daily from the end of June through Labor Day. For
