With the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as a spectacular backdrop, Liberty State Park one of New Jersey's most dramatc parks. The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ), a grand setting for much of New Jersey's transportation history in the northeast, sits prominently at the north end of the park.

Liberty Walk
A two mile promenade , Liberty Walk links the picnic area, Interpretive Center and the CRRNJ Terminal while presenting visitors with a sweeping view of the Hudson River. An outdoor performance area and other improvements mark the northern section of the park, while the western portion is home to the exciting and newly reopened Liberty Science Center.

Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ)
From 1892 through 1954 the CRRNJ Terminal stood with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and watched s one of the nation's most dramatic stories unfolded: the immigration of northern, souhern and eastern Europeans, among others, into the United States. After being greeted by Lady Liberty and processed at Ellis Island, these immigrants purchased tickets and boarded trains at the terminal that would take them to their new homes in the United States.

Interpretive Center
The center located on Freedom Way has envrionmental and historical exhibits that focus on the changing Hudson River and the surrounding area. The center houses and auditorium and classroom space and offers programs for schools, youth groups and the public. For moreinformation, please call (201)915-3409.

Liberty Park Natural Area (36 acres)
With one of the few remnant tidal salt marshes within the Hudson River estuary, this natural area provides habitat for numerous residential bird species. A nature trail runs through the buffer zone uplands.
