Rancocas State Park, located just east of Camden, is a perfect place for hiking, picnicking and nature watching.

Rancocas Nature Center
Managed by the New Jersey Audonbon Society, this center offers special wildlife programs and nature walks throughout the year. For more information call (856)261-2495

Powhatan Indian Museum
A portion of the park is leased to the Powhatan Indians. Here you can see what life was like for the indians at the recreated 1600 Indian village. In May and October you can see the Juried American Indian Arts Festivals, which includes music, peformances and crafts and is sponsorded by the Powhatan Indians. Rancocas Natural Area (58 acres)

Here you can follow the trails through upland and lowland hardwood forest, which will lead you along the North Branch of the Rancocas Creek and an extensive freshwater tidal marsh. The diversity found here provides a home for numerous species of birds and animals. The site offers self-guided interpretive markers which highlight points of interests along the trails.
