Farmers Market in Camden during the New Jersey Tomato Festival

There is still plenty of Garden in the Garden State! With 9,800 farms covering 790,000 acres, New Jersey is still one of the top producers in fruits and vegetables.

During the New Jersey growing season, many farms are open and allow you to pick your own fruits and vegetables right off the "vine". You can't get any fresher than that! During the fall it is very common for people to go out to the apple orchards, be given a apple picker and out they go, getting their Red Delicious right off the apple tree!

In addition to the many u-pick farms, there are roadside stands along the many county roads in New Jersey, as well as farmers markets in the cities. You haven't tasted a tomato until you've tasted a Jersey Tomato and NOTHING beats the sweet corn of New Jersey.
