Home to the NEW JERSEY DEVILS
Three Time Stanley Cup Champions.
Congratulations to a great team.
1995, 2000, 2003
New Jersey is home to numerous professional sports teams, from minor league baseball and hockey, to two NFL teams, as well as the three time Stanley Cup Champions the NJ Devils, the MLS's NJ MetroStars and the NBA's NJ Nets.
New Jersey is also home to less known sports, such as Lacrosse, which is a big sport in NJ, especially in high schools and colleges. If you are from out of state or even a fellow New Jerseyan and have never seen a Lacross game, but are into hard and fast games, then check out the New Jersey Pride.
For an inexpensive family night out, make sure you check out one of New Jersey's many minor league baseball teams. No matter where you are in NJ, there is a minor league team not too far away. Why go through the headache of traffic and an overpriced game in NY, when you can get just as much enjoyment right here in NJ at the fraction of the price.

Long Beach Island
Long Beach Island is long, measuring about 21 miles from north to south. It is very narrow though and in some places only a block seperates the ocean and bay. There is only one road on or off the island and that is Rt 72.
Pirates used to frequent this island, including Captain Kidd and Blackbeard. Barnegat Lighhouse resides at the north end of the island. Here you can also find some of the best surfing on the east coast. |
Barnegat Penisula
Barnegat Penisula includes the area between the Manasquan Inlet and the Barnegat Inlet. Although technically an island now - it was a penisula before the Manasquan Inlet was made to allow fishing boats in and out.
The three key tourist areas are Pt Pleasant Beach, Seaside Heights and Island Beach State Park. New Jersey Transit's North Coastal line stops at Pt Pleasant and Bayhead and goes onto Newark and New York. |
