Newark Liberty International Airport
Newark Liberty International Airport, formerly Newark International Airport was renamed after 9/11 in honor of the victims of the terrorist attacks and is commonly referred to as Newark Liberty. Opening in 1928, Newark Liberty is the northeast NJ region's oldest airport and is still one of the busiest in the US. Through it's long history it has expanded from it's original 68 acres to it's current 2,027 acres and is home to airlines from all over the world.

Newark Liberty is surrounded by the Turnpike to the east, Rts 9 & 1 and Rt 78 which makes it easy to get to wherever your destination is, but the roadsigns around the airport can be very confusing if you are unfamiliar with the area. If you will be renting a car, make sure you get a map and if you have any quesions, ask. Atlantic City International Airport
Atlantic City International is a relatively small international airport, but is quickly growing. The airport covers 2,200 acres which is mostly reserved for future expansion, plus 2,700 which the FAATC uses. Atlantic City International services southern NJ, the Jersey Shore and in particular Atlantic City. The airport borders the Garden State Parkway to the east and the Atlantic City Expressway to the south and is much easier to maneuver than Newark Liberty International or one of the New York airports.

In addtition to being a civil airport, AC International is also home to the New Jersey Air National Guard 177th Fighter Wing, United States Coast Guard Air Station/Atlantic City and the Transportation Security Agency Federal Air Marshal national training center.
